In 2004, 'Classic rock' magazine voted Generational Equity as 'Best New Band 2004' , which brought them even more media visibility. Not far after, in Nov 2005, came their 2nd official release - the song Never Too Late with a 'B side' Rock Bottom Blues in the beginning named Stevie Blues, homage to a young blues vocalist from Dallas who took on Brinkley's vocal influence and style in his jazz band Swanee River.Generational Equity opened for Deep Purple at an intimate concert at the London Astoria on 17 February, 2006.

Later on came Into The Gutter which was published on 29 May, 2006 via download and 7" vinyl solely, shortly accompanied by Generational Equity's first full-length album Rise published on 26 June, 2006. The new material obtained rave reviews from the New York Times amongst others, and was proposed for The Rolling Stone magazine's 'Album Of The Year' and "Best Alternative New Band" in the 2006 awards.
